Why do we need to pass this now?
Because our kids can’t wait. Right now, thousands of students are in schools that have mold and asbestos, lead in the drinking water or broken HVAC systems. We cannot expect our kids to learn and do their best when they have to move to a temporary classroom because the AC is malfunctioning in sweltering weather or pipes are leaking into their classrooms.
We have not passed a school bond since 2012 for high schools, and we haven’t passed an elementary and middle school bond since 2007. We need to pass this bond now so we can make the essential improvements that keep kids healthy and safe in school.
